Well, I have been working out for about 8 weeks now.  I do at least a mile a day on the treadmill at a brisk pace...striving for 2 miles even if I have to break it up and do a mile in the morning and another in the afternoon.  The scale has not moved at all.  Even with cutting my calorie intake down to about 1800/day...no movement.  This plateau is so frustrating....I do feel it in my clothes (bra and shoes of course) but I so want to get to my next goal.  I wanted to lose 20lbs over this 8 week period but so far...nothing......
What do I do next???

OK, so it has been a long time....but in all honesty there has been nothing to report.  I went through all the motions, was accepted by SMDC, and DENIED by UHC.  I have been watching what I eat very carefully and have lost 34 lbs, have been stuck there for about 3 weeks.  Now if I can just get motivated to start exercising.  I really need an exercise buddy to get me going.  I bet that would get me past this plateau.  My mom and I tried taking Alli and that helps somewhat.  I just have a hard time remembering to take it all the time, I have never really had to take pills so cannot really get used to doing so.

Looks like things are getting back on track.  We suffered a minor setback in that my insurance definitely would not cover the surgery so have spent the last several months looking at self-pay options.  With DH working out of town, he was given a PPO option for our insurance this year instead of the Definity plans that I usually have.  It lowered our out of pocket expenses a ton, so we switched.  He was going through the benefit plan docs for 2007 and even though this plan has the same exclusion that mine did, it also says that
"surgical, non-surgical and drug therapy treatment of morbid obesity may be covered under an authorized, monitored care plan that is approved by the Plan Administrator in its sole discretion."

So, there is hope for me yet.  I have my psych eval scheduled for 2/13.  As soon as I complete that, the "board" will meet to discuss my case and if they give the go ahead, they will submit to UHC for approval.  Keep your fingers crossed....
