6 Month Surgiversary
Dec 12, 2009
Well not quite where I wanted to be at 6 months but still pretty good. Down 98 pounds since surgery (wanted) to break 100 at the 6 month mark) and about 12 pants sizes. Feeling very energetic and back to "new normal". Body measurements keep changing and am still buying new clothes! I hope some big person out there is benefiting from all of the good clothes that have ended up at Good Will.

Still Happy to be a Loser!

5 Month Surgiversary
Nov 09, 2009
Well pretty frustrated. Only 10 pounds this month. Good news however, I have now been taken off of all of my metabolic syndrome medications. My BP was actually getting too low and my Doctor, who goes to church where we do saw me a couple of times when standing up get light headed. Made me come in and took me off of my BP medicine. I guess there are all kinds of benefits to be thankful for.

4 Month Surgiversary
Oct 01, 2009
Not too happy with this past months progress. Seem to be hoovering just above one of my main milestone weights (300). Can not seem to tip over this critical psycological hurdle! I know stay the course...what choice do I have? # month Doctor visit was very good. Ahead of their projections and BP is down to the point that I will need to stop all BP meds. That's awesome! Well onward and downward!

Two Months Out Still Doing Well
Jul 31, 2009
Okay July 31, 2009 two months to the day of surgery. Down 51.9 pounds since surgery morning. Down 91.4 pounds since about a year ago. Still not hungary very much and nothing looks very inticing but I guess thats good. Keeping up with the protien and my vitamins. Went to the golf driving range today for the first time in about 3 years and it was tiring but felt great. Of course I only hit a small bucket. Looking forward to getting out on the course again soon. Sleeping alot better and not so sore in the knees and ankles. All-in-all moving in the right direction.

A little over a Month Out
Jul 05, 2009
Okay exactly one month to the day of my surgery and I was down to 349 almost 35 pounds in a little over four weeks. It must admit it hasn't been the most enjoyable time of my life but making progress. I had a sevre case of psuedogout in my left ankle that is still hanging on ever so slightly and really slowed me down. If you have never had gout I do not recommend it. As a person who has a family history I don't have much choice and they told me it might become more frequent after surgery. They didn't disappoint. Well onward and downward. Must get some new clothes, everyone is complaining even my boys!

First Full Week of Work
Jun 18, 2009
Well started out the week (I work 4X10 hour shifts Monday to Thursday) with a 13 hour day. Leave the house at 5 am and return at 6:15 pm (long drive out into the desert to get to my work site). Anyway was dragging Monday, Tuesday was pretty good, yesterday crashed and burned but I make it through, and intend to make 10 today for a full 40 hours. Am really looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning. Have not been hungy but have been forcing the protien and water. I am hoping things will improve soon. One week into mussy food and I am already sick of it. I just want to chew something. Oh well, patience and perserverance is the receipy. Down to 359 today so thats 25 since surgery date.

Almost 2 Weeks out.
Jun 13, 2009
Well tomorrow will be two weeks. So far My weight is down to 364. That's 20 pounds since surgery. I am absolutely miserable about this full liquid diet and can not wait until I can have some pureed real food starting tomorrow. Got to break out of this meloncoly depression its driving me nuts. I am not particularly interested in doing anything.
But back to work on Monday. Maybe being busy is the trick.
