 I had my preop appointment today.  I wasn't nervous at all before today but after the appointment I felt a few minutes of panic.  I have fought long and hard to get to this point.  I've been at peace since approval was given by the powers that be.  I have been excited.  But panic set in for about 10 minutes.  Then I got over it.  I have planned my meals for the next 2 weeks.  I have to eat food from my surgeon's office for these 2 weeks.  Well, starting Monday.  I will be surviving on 800 calories.  I will not eat anything off of plan.  If I do not lose weight, they will cancel my surgery date.  So I will not play games nor let my cravings rule my life.  I will remember that this all is a blessing and a privilege and that surgery is not an easy-fix but a tool.
