"Dr. Mailapur was the second Dr. I met with to explore weight loss surgery. I did not have a good feeling about the first doctor. My immediate impression of Dr. Mailapur and his staff (at his excellent seminar) was that they were very professional and well organized. In my first one-on-one with the Dr he made it clear that he had strict requirements that had to be met, but he and his staff provided all the help and guidance needed to meet them. Dr. Mailapur is a very warm and caring person who clearly wants the best for his patients. He is an excellent surgeon. I've had no complications at all from my RNY even though I had existing scar tissue that he had to work around. This was partially because I've followed his guide book - which was given to me up front - but I believe it is mostly because he is such a good surgeon. I did not even need the pain pump in the hospital. He is a strong supporter of support groups, self-education, and exercise. I really cannot think of anything negative to say about Dr. Mailapur or his staff. I am so thankful that I found him."
