Well, I don't know that my story is any different than anyone else's.....but I'll share just hte same. I was a mildly athletic teenager, so my weight was well managed through highschool - such that I could be a cheerleader with no issues. Well then came college! Freshman 15 came and went. After graduating from college, I managed to weighed in at a svelte 160 - and I never thought I'd lose it. But, I did! Throughout my twenties, I managed to diet excerciise, take Phen, Fin, etc. After getting married in 2000, I branished the newlywed 20! Then we realized we were experiencing fertility issues. By the end of 2002, we began the process of In-Vitro....the pills, the shots, the worry....the pounds. BUT - I became pregnant with twins. By the time I became pregnant, I was 230 pounds. I gained 25 pounds during the pregnancy, and lost them immediately after delivery. And then.... over the course of two years, I gained an additionion 30 pounds, and that brings us to today.
I worked with a number of people who've either had Gastric Bypass, or the Lap-Band. I began to research, and closely follow my co-workers. Those with the most success had the Lap-Band. Those who had the most complications - had Gadstric Bypass......I decided on the Lap-Band.
I had my surgery on September 18, 2007. I am one week out, and not overjoyed with the loss. I've lost about 2.5 pounds. Not totally disappointed, but I've had to work for the pounds. I don't feel much restriction right now. Eating is very easy!
Now - my surgery. It was a total breeze. I woke up - used the restroom as instructed, and then ate two sugar-free popscicles. Then, my mom and I went shopping for two hours. I had very little pain, and I was ready to eat by the time I got home. Good story on the surface, but I won't lose much at this rate.
