OKay,
Its been almost 2 months since my surgery. I've lost 65 pounds but the really good news is, as of today, I no longer take blood pressure medicine, thyroid medicine, gout medicine, or two of my three colesterol/trigliceride lowering medicines. The only medication I'm on now is a HDL boosting medication made of fish oil. I can live with that. I can walk forever and my feet no longer go numb on me. So I'm doing great! Praise the Lord!

I arrived at the Hospital at 2:00pm as instructed. My surgery was scheduled for 4:00pm. Well after getting checked in and hooked up to an IV. I learn that a previous surgery has run long and my surgery will be done as soon as Dr. Barker catches up. There was one in front of me. Okay I didn't like being the last one of the day to begin with but to head off for the OR after 8:00 pm and knowing that the surgeon has been at it since sun up..... Well let’s just say I was a wee bit nervous. My wife tells me I was in surgery till after 10:00 pm. (So says my wife, I don't remember). I wake up at some point with my wife and several nurses or doctors or someone shaking the beegesous out of me imploring me to breath. Deep Breaths! They keep saying. I then wake up at 2:00 am in a puddle of my own sweat. I got to get out of this bed and had to fight off nurses and my wife to do it. They remove the 4 blankets I had on me (no wonder I couldn't breath) and let me stand up while they changed the sheets. That’s when I started bleeding just a little from the large incision. They got the bed fixed and laid me back down and re-bandaged the incision. I woke up several hours later and it was time to walk. Walk every 2 hours and drink water. About 4:00 pm they said everything went as planned and I did fine so they packed me up and sent me home.
Well tomorrow is the day

Well guys, tomorrow is the day! They have me scheduled for my RNY Gastric Bypass at 4:00 pm tomorrow. My excitement has faded to nervousness. I' m just relying on God. I know He is in control and everything will go as planned. When this is over I'll be a better husband and father and that’s what matters. I love my beautiful wife more than anything in this world. I can't wait to get health and happy so I can be all that she needs me to be. I'll write again as soon as I'm able.
