The Beginning...

Jul 01, 2008

I had my VSG surgery on June 17th.  I did several months of Dr visits and nutrition visits and a psych visit.  I finally made it there!

My surgery was a bit rough at first.  I had expected to leave the hospital the next day, but ended up staying from Tuesday through Friday.  I had some major nausea and cramps.  I was also diagnosed with an ileas, meaning my stomach would not drain the food/liquid out.  May Saturday, I was able to drink enough to stay hydrated.  I had only taken that Tuesday through Friday off and ended up taking another week just to heal.

During my second week I was processing liquids very easily and noticed I was able to move around well.

Today is the second week so I start my mushy foods.  For the first time I had Cottage Cheese.  The office is having a big Pizza Party for the 4th of July and I struggle with not being able to participate.  I love pizza, OH Wait...  I love All FOOD, which is why I am here...  ha ha

I look forward to the coming weeks and being able to eat more of the regular foods.
