I fought & won a referral from Kaiser NorCal to John Rabkin in December 2009!!! I am waiting for my consult & surgery date now!
My story...
— Spent two years researching all available types of WLS? Check.
— Made the decision to have WLS, only to find that my employer's PPO didn't cover it? Check.
— Spent another year waiting for open enrollment to switch insurance? Check.
— Referred to Bariatrics at SSF Kaiser, 10 pounds away from goal, and surgeon cancelled my surgery? Check.
— Husband had psychotic break the following week, had to put "ME" on hold for another year, shot back up to original high weight? Check.
— BACK to SSF Kaiser, new surgeon, got within 6 pounds of goal weight, and surgery cancelled again? Check.
— Shot back up to my original high weight for a 3rd time? Check.
— Re-evaluated my relationship with food, with myself, with my husband, with God, with everything? Check.
— RE-ENTERED the program, this time at Richmond Kaiser, new surgeon, new outlook on life? Check.
