First Appointment with Surgeon

My first appt is today at 230 and I am very excited. I am having my surgery done at Cape Fear Valley.
I will fill you in on the details later as far as what appointments they set up for me and the dates. I know that I have found information helpful and encouraging. I don't think anyone can be too informed. I have a general idea of what appointments I will have and a little about today. I think they weigh me and measure me and set up appointments and also ask me which surgery I want. I am doing the Gastric bypass not the band.
Well gotta get dressed and make sure I have all my paper work in order. I have a follow up dental appointment for a crown build up today at 1130. If for no other reason, this blog gives me a place to record my journey and add photos. It also gives me a place to record my nutrition and other helpful tools. It sure beats handwriting it and it is much more organized here than if I just typed it all out in Word.

I have my first meeting with my surgeon this Wednesday. My insurance required no referral which was awesome! I turned in all the paperwork I needed and all I have to do now is get weighed in and measured and they will set up all the other blood work and tests for me. I am hoping I will have my surgery by the end of October since things are going so well, but if not end of November works too. I am just ready for a new me. My weight never defined who I really have been but it has limited me from doing so many things I wanted to do. I was living in a shell, kinda like being buried alive.
The biggest thing I regret is not loving myself enough. I am a person of value and lovable. I look at photos of myself as an adult and wish that I looked so much better. What woman wouldn't want to look sexy or just good, on her special day? Or what about holidays. So most photos I have taken will be of my face or from the waist up, which I feel isn't so bad. As I progress I will show more of me. After all this time this one thing I am doing, is for ME. I know that how others see us is important but everyone and every woman is different.
I am grateful for this site and I have already learned so much from here reading the blogs and just seeking the before and after photos, I am so happy for those people and envious. But I will have my own story to tell and photos to post.
