I like most people on here have struggled all of my life. I have tried so many different diets that would help me lose a little weight but not enough to make a large difference. I even was going to do that fasting diet where you drink the maple syrup, cayene pepper and lemon juice with hot water. Oh and laxative tea. Well, that lasted all of a day. So three years ago I started checking into the gastric bypass which my insurance covers. Did Weight Watchers for six months, Jenny Craig for a few months and well had to take dietician classes even diabetic eating classes. Finally got my doctor to refer me through the insurance company to a surgeon. Insurance approved me to see the doctor took me five months to get an appointment. Then I had several issues with the insurance company wanting more tests that took another five months to get appointments and get them all done. (I have to go to millitary hospitals and sometimes (since these were not emergency tests) it takes a while to get in for the testing plus this all fell around the holiday months. Tests were finally done in February, then I had to keep calling insurance because they kept saying they didn't have everything. Finally one day I spoke to a different person and she looked at my file and said that everything was there I was approved a few days later. Called doctor and had a date set of April 29, 2008. So here I am 6 days after surgery. A little discomfort because my surgeons partner decided that he wanted to leave it in until Monday just to be safe. (This is the only spot that I feel pain), I am not on pain meds just liquid Tylenol as needed. Good luck to everyone in your endeavor to a new life!
