I am 40 years old, married with 4 kids and 3 grandkids. I have been overweight since I was a child.
Since 2003 I had lost 75 pounds on my own, my highest weight was 315, when I found out I was pregnant with my youngest in 2002. Since February 08 I have put back on 29 pounds. I have had several health issues this year, each time one clears up a new one starts, the latest seems to be GERD, plus the aches and pains of carrying the additional weight. My body does not appreciate that.
My husband had the lapband last December and I have toyed with having one done myself. I finally have decided to get it done, one of the final deciding factors was the fact that the WLS can block the GERD, or has the potential to.
I am in the process now of testing for the procedure and hope to have the lapband done by the end of the year.
I am looking forward to meeting everyone.
