Mark Lovaas Plastic Surgeon MD, FACS

His consultation was the second of two I had attended. He seemed very thorough and knowledgable about a tummy tuck in relation to gastric bypass weight loss. Dr. Lavaas made some suggestions, which I had considered prior to speaking to any surgeon. I decided to go with Dr. Lovaas due mostly for two reasons; He appeared very knowledgable about what my I had hoped for an outcome; and since I had to pay for this myself, the price at Park Nicollet was 1/3 of the price of the professional plastic surgeory office I had visited in Edina.
The morning of surgery Dr. Lovaas came in to explain the surgery and expectations. Surgery was done on 11/21/02. My drainage tubes were removed three weeks post-op. Although I am impressed by the surgeon's technique(surgicaly). However, He did not have any bedside manner in as far as talking; he did not say much, and did not communicate post op instructions very well; post-op activities, wound care, or any other information. Because of this, I did have to ask his nurse, who was very informative, the questions the surgeon should have automatically shared with me. Dr. Lavaas did do an excellent job; the scar line was barely noticable at four weeks. When I complimented him on how pleased I felt, he stated "I know". I will consider seeing him again to discuss the loose skin under my chin (bothers me) and a genetic issue with saggy skin above and below my eyes (not related to surgery) because he did such a good job.
