Hi I started my journey in 2005, my Dr. told me I needed to have 12 supervised visits with her before I could get approved by my Insurance. I made about 10 of those visits and then lost my Insurance. So a year later in June of 2007 I had my Insurance back and started my journey again! My Dr. made a appointment for me to go to Fargo to a required seminar and my Husband went with me. I told my Dr. that fargo was just to far away, could I please find one closer. My Cousins wife had, had her surgery in Crosby, Mn. My Dr had never heard of that Hospital so she wouldnt do it. She said she new many people who had surgery done In Park Rapids. So she had to refer me to their as they werent in the Merit care System. So I went to there required seminar which was to see a Dieticion, a Social Worker, The Dr. A excercise specialist and have Blood Work. Then I had to see a phychiatrist (I probably spelled that wrong) I  also had to read a book they sent me also, and turn in a little test page at the end so it proved you read the book. So with all that done I needed Merit care to then send Park Rapids my supervised Dr Visits I had had the year before I lost my Insurance. So I called Merit Care and told them what needed to be done. I waited for several weeks waiting for Park Rapids to call me to tell me if my Insurance had approved me. So finally I called them and they said all Merit Care had sent them was a list of Blood preasures! So I re-called and they got it right this time I was approved just shortly after that. I made my appointment for my surgery for January 10th 2008.
Well its April 7th today as Im up grading my profile. I am having to re-do this as my old one from 2005 couldnt be brought to here.  So My surgery went pretty well, I went in on a Thursday, came home on that following Sunday. The only Problem I have had so far was a nausia problem. The Dr. ordered nausia patches for me. The last for 72 hours, you put them behind your ear. They lasted me longer though for some weird reason. Every Monday I would become nausiated and put a new patch on. It was like that for a month and then it was done. No more nausia thank goodness! I am down 50 lbs, this Thursday will be my 3 month anniversary. I hope to get pictures taken Thursday. Then I will try and get my before pictures to my current weight pictures posted. By the way I was 267 lbs when I started this journey. I hope to never gain the weight back, but it is possible so I hope I stay on tract with this opportunity. So Far with this 50 lbs gone I can cut my toe nails and breath! YES have air the whole while I'm doing it! Way more room in the bathtub! Walk better, breath better, have more energy! I have extra lace left when I have tied my shoes. Thats just some of them, I wont mention them all. I do need to work on eating slower. We have had alot of bad habits we need to work out of our systems. Eating fast, not chewing good, eating because we are mad or sad or happy or because we are borred. These are things we cant do any more after we have surgery.  Well all for now I hope to post my pictures in a few days.
