One year Anniversary!
Jan 11, 2009
Wow what a year! It went so fast. I meant to keep posts updated on here because I would get upset with some of the ones who started and didn't finish. Here I have done that myself! I guess..we just get so busy because we have way more energy. So that's a good excuse right?! Well not really, but I think its what happens to some. Yesterday January 10Th was my one year anniversary and I didn't even realize it was the tenth yesterday. I have lost 120 lbs!
I have so much more energy, I don't ache near as bad as I used to. I think I can say 75% of my Fibromyalgia is better. Now I don't know how much of that is from weight loss or a change in the diet. I really think the diet has alot to do with it. I had a huge garden and canned alot of stuff. I haven't been able to can for two years because I ached so bad and didn't have the energy. I also had a leg infection the summer before and that layed me up for weeks. It was called cellulitis. Now I thought when the Dr. told me what I had that the cellulite in my leg was infected. I thought oh great now my Husband is really going to be after me about my weight. How ever it turns out I had gotten the infection by being bitten by alot of flys. They were just awful on the animals and I was trying to spray them and I was getting bitten also and they gave me a bad infection that put me down for weeks. Next time I will wear pants no matter how hot and muggy it is! Any ways I am able to ride horse again and the exciting biggy is I can get in the saddle with out standing on a hay bale or stool! I can cross my legs. I can walk and breath, there is plenty of room on both sides of me in the bathtub. So many great things have come from my weight loss. The only thing that bothers me..... and its not a huge deal is my arms are flabby and wrinkly! Now my main goal was to have energy and to feel better that has been accomplished. If I looked better that would be great and I do look alot better. I have loose skin all over and that's fine I just didn't want it on my arms or face. But whatever I'm still happy!
I still drink protein drinks. That way I'm able to eat a larger variety of foods. I drink a goat whey protein I buy from GNC. It is 300% more digestible and I think tastes great. I add my liquid calcium to it. I get that at a Health food store called Sunrise foods. But I would think most Health food stores should carry it. Its a fast absorbing liquid called Cal/ Mag/ Zink and has minerals in it also. Then I also add a liquid stuff called Glucosamine, Chondroitin, & MSM Liquid its helps aches and pains. I order it through Swansons Health Products. Just do the www.swanson.com Then I also take a liquid Vitamin B-12 and Liquid B compex that has a dropper and I let it sit under my tongue for a few seconds. They both taste pretty good. Especially the B-12 tastes better than the B Complex I do them at the same time. Neither one of those has thiamine in it so I get a pill form that I break in half called B-1 300 these come from GNC also. Then if you are one who likes flavored water I really enjoy these Zinngers to go There in the tea and cocoa isle at Walmart. Its in a little purple box and its wild berry chill. These are much healthier because it has a natural sugar called Stevia its from a plant that is good for us even for diabetics. And its good for our skin. The splenda and equals and the stuff in other diet drinks are really bad for us. Another one I get is from a health food store and its called Sweet Catus Farms. I also get a box of Stevia at the heath food store. But this cactus one is really good for sweetening cereals or if you have a bowl of strawberries with blueberries and raspberries and bananas like I enjoy and you want it a little sweeter the cactus one is really good on it. My little girl even loves it. I like the stevia in tea better than the cactus one. GNC also usually has packets of the goat whey you can try for free so ask the heath food places for samples. some you have to buy, but they have small packets. I try to avoid sugar as much as possible. So far I don't eat bread or drink pop or eat sweets as a rule. I may take a taste of something I bake once in awhile, but my rule is not to take and go eat. Just a taste. And I usually don't. I don't want to get in bad habits. I don't want to gain my weight back. And we feel much healthier not eating sugar stuff. Well I hope for any of you who are planning surgery that some of these things will help you to become a healthier more happy you. I know goat stuff has a bad wrap with most people, I got to tell ya I liked the goat whey so much I bought two milking goats because there milk is so much healthier well its just as great as cow milk. A goat and cow both have udders abd both have teets, only goats have two and cows have four. Did you know that? They eat the same thing alfalfa hay and dairy grain. So why wouldn't it taste the same. I have learned a few things that will not make the milk taste great. That's if you cover the milk when its warm, Makes a funny flavor. I bought a pasteurizer and pasteurize it and you have to kool it right away in a sink full of cold water. Then in a bit drain and add new cold water. Its super! and Healthy! I bought a hand crank cream separator and a butter churn. I don't have the cream separator going yet. I really want to make my own butter. The more foods we can do ourselves the better off we are. Because all the vegetables have pesticides in them and our milks hormones and what not.
