TOO FAT FOR TOO LONG!!!! I'm 39 years old and have 4 children. I have struggled with my weight most of my life, especially after high school. Within the last 10 years, my health has just gone down the tubes. I have chronic neck pain and diabetes. Our family enjoys riding our horses and I feel sorry for my horse every time I get on her. I hate not being able to keep up with family activities because of my wieght. I have tried every "diet" and have been on Wieght Watchers for the last 6 months. Starting weight 274.

Had my consult with Dr. Cagle. Everything wonderful anyone has ever said is true. She Answered all my questions before I even asked them and her nurse Ann is the same. They are checking with my insurance (Great West) to see if my Weight Watchers program since August will be sufficiant. Great West wants a 6 month Dr. supervised weight loss program before they will O.K. everything. I have an appt. with my GP doc this week and over the next few weeks I have psych, upper GI and Sleep Apnea tests. I am praying that it might be possible to have the surg before Spring break because I work for the school district and have that time off. I know that is a liitle unrealistic but The Lord has his schedule and I will follow it!!

Went to the pre op meeting at SWMC tonight. I thought the class started at 7 but it started at 6:30. It was nice to see post op patients and hear their stories and comments. I lost my job on Monday. What a blessing!!! I won't get serious about another job untill after surgery (however long it takes). I had my phsyc eval...no big deal.
3-4-06
Insurance approved after 2nd request...But, they still are "investigating" my "Credable Coverage". I am scheduled for surgery on April 21st, '06(my husbands birthday) and I will start the skim milk diet on March 21st. Not looking forward to the milk thing. I'm very excited but a little nervous about my insurances' last hoop. I have met Cheryl L. on this websight and her surgery is scheduled one week before me. I'm happy I have a new friend to share this experience with.
3-21-06 Weight 275
I started my "skim milk Diet" today. The milk part isn't bad. I got some some sugar free vanilla and chocolate syrup flavorings and it tastes great. But...I'm starving!!! I just have to remeber 1 month to surgery.
4-7-06
Just got back from Southern California today. I had a heck of a time with my skim milk diet. Yes, I screwed up several times but I'm back on track. My surgery is in two weeks from today. I can't believe it. My friend Cheryl L. will have hers next week. I'm excited for both of us. I went to Disneyland while in So Cal. I can't wait till my next trip when I can actually fit in the seats on the rides!!! I have my pre-op appt with Dr. Cagle next Thursday and my labs will be done at the hospital on 4-18. That's all for now.
4-20-06 Weight 268
OK, so I've got a little anxiety, but nothing a xanax won't cure. It's almost 9pm and I'm getting ready for my enema and Hibicleanse shower :-( I just can't waite till the morning. I spoke with my friend Cheryl L. who I met on this websight tonight. She had the surgery last week. She sounds SO good that I'm really looking forward to recovering and then losing!!! I had our Pastor and some friends pray over me this morning and I know I'm in Gods hands!!!! I'll post as soon as I can.

Wow. I feel great!!! Surgery was 3 days ago. I woke up in recovery in a lot of pain and had nausea. After I got to my room, everything for the first day was a blurr but I think I felt good. I don't recall having any pain or nausea. I do know it was hard to sleep after everyone left. I am amazed at how good I feel. Of course my tummy is uncomfortable but thats what pain meds are for :-) I left the hospital not taking any of my diabetes medication and also ditched the Prevacid and Lipator. I have several samples of protien drinks and I need to start drinking them. I'm not hungry and it makes it hard to remember to drink. Well I'm going to go try something.
4-28-06
Just can't believe how great I feel. One week and one day out and I have not had any problems except my belly is still sore in one spot. According to my dads scale I'm down to 258 but I think it's off. I see Dr Cagle on 5-3 and will get my official wieght then. Still haven't had a BM :-(
5-3-06 Weight 255
Had my post op with Dr. Cagle today. Weigh in was 255. I'm down 13 lbs. Yeah!!!! I feel great. I'm getting all of my protein in. I am using Isopure which gives you 50 grams of protein per serving if you only use water. I have cut up some banana and frozen it and sometimes put a dab of creamy peanut butter in then blend with ice. I have vanilla and chocolate but I like the vanilla better. It will be nice to have some eggs and cottage cheese but I have to wait till my 3 week mark. I was cleared to ride my horse, so I did so today. A very short gentle ride but non the less a ride!!! I am going to start riding my bike and try some toning stuff for the rest of my body. I am fitting into clothes I haven't worn in 4 years. My underwear are getting droopy too :) Thank You Jesus!!!!!
5-9-06 Weight ?
Well, I rode my husbands horse a few days ago and got bucked off. Now my only complaint is my butt. I ordered some chocolate Matrix protein and it is YUMMIE!!! I also got some Isofruit cantelope melon flavor and it is really refreshing. I start work on the 12th and am looking forward to it. I have had some constipaion and then diarrhea but everything else (besides the butt) is going great. I'm lagging a bit on the exercise but I'll work harder on it when my butt feels better. See ya next time :)
5-16-06 Weight 250
Had my 4 week post op (a few days early). I've graduated to puree. It's kind of fun trying new things but I am scared I will get sick. I've been having a little discomfort in my left side so they ordered a cat scan. I think they were a little worried because of my fall. Everything else is just peachy. I started working and I LOVE my new job. We're so busy (Urgent Care) that sometimes I forget to eat. I'm going to have to get a timer or something. Life is good!!!
5-20-06
I bought a few new t-shirts today. Sizes 14/16 and 18/20. My 22/24's are way too big :)
6-30-06 Weight 235
I can't believe I haven't updated my profile untill now. Everything is great. I feel good, real good. The weight is coming off just like they say. I haven't been excersizing at all. I'm feeling real flabby. Hmm, maybe that's because...I AM!!! I see Dr. Cagle in mid July and will post again then. I have not had any problems at all. Thank you Lord!!!

Well let's see. Since my last posting I had had some chest pain. During my first hospital stay they diagnosed me with a pulmonary emboli. A week later the pain came back and they decided I didn't have an emboli. They scoped me and decided I had an ulcer in my new little tummy. The next time the chest pain came they decided to do an ultrasound of my gallbladder...Bingo. They took it out, very uneventful except my pain lasted more than a week. I was taken back into surgery afer a normal CT and a normal HIDA scan and they found a couple adhesions and a hernia. I'm home again and feeling much better. Dr. Dally and Dr. Cagle are such caring physicians!!! Anyhow, besides all these additional surgeries, I'm doing good. I haven't joined a gym or done any excersising which is really bad!!! I have the same excuses as before surgery :0( The kids go back to school soon so I won't have as many excuses now. Talk to you all soon!!!
10-3-06 Weight 204
Ok, so I haven't joined a gym or worked out yet. I have the worst "bat wings" under my arms. Please don't do what I have done. It would have been so much better if I had been working out this whole time. I'm doing good other than that. I have been trying new foods and learning what works and what doesn't. Apple fritters DON'T work. I tried half a PPJ with sugar free jelly and I dumped with that too. I really like meat and veggies. I don't do milk well so I'm still drinking soy. I like "Continent 8" light vanilla. I still try to have an Isopure vanilla protein shake every day. I had some hair loss and freaked a little so I make sure I get all my protein. My husband took some pictures of me and I can't believe the difference!!! I will try to get them posted. See you all later!!!
