I talked to Melanie's sister tonight. She is still receiving blood transfusions, and is also getting steriods via IV. The steriods are causing her feet and legs to swell, and she is in quite a bit of pain because of that. Her sister said they also suspect a blood clot because one part of her leg is really hurting. Her blood count is up to 11, and she is feeling a little better but still in critical condition. I will try to call in a couple of days and post another update.
