Anne, congratulations on your awesome loss of pounds and inches. You are doing terrific! Don't worry about the occasional smaller losses, I think your body has to have some weeks to just adjust. Its during those times that you really rack up the losses in the inches. I've been on a 6 week plateau but in that time I've lost an inch and a half in my waist and a half inch in my hips. Take heart!

SORRY TO HEAR YOUR LITTLE GIRL WAS HURT. SOUNDS TO ME YOUR HUSBAND HAS A PROBLEM WITH YOU BEING IN THE SPOTLIGHT OVER HIM EVEN WHEN THE EVENTS AROUND YOU ARE TRAGIC. CAN YOU GET HIM TO CONSIDER COUNSELING?

Hi there everyone! I am now 3 weeks post-op, and I have lost in the past week.. 5 pounds, and 4.75 inches. For a grand total of 25 pounds lost and 25.5 inches gone forever! <p> I am doing pretty well. I still have a pretty good area that is still swollen and that is where I have my pain. I have a hard time twisting and bending over. Unfortunetly, at my job, I have to do that. (No Jokes Please!!) :) I work again tomorrow, from 9pm-midnight.. lord knows how I am going to do that. <p> My husband seems to be just getting worse. Last night when he came home from work, he got mad that things weren't done to his specifications. He started yelling and throwing things around the house. He never usually does this, only when something major happens in my life, like surgery, or my dad's death, or mom's 2 heartattacks. I am so mad at him. Before long, that statistic of divorce after WLS is gonna creep even higher! <p> I had two dreams recently that is just weird! One night, I dreamt that I opened up a COKE and just chugged it. I then realized what I did and threw it up. Weird. The other was last night. I was going out on a 'date' with someone, (hint hint), and I was skinny. I was looking for that perfect dress to wear.. but they were all size 20's. I tried them on and they fit, even though I was a size 8. What oh heck does that mean?! Well, I'll let you all go, this is long enough! Take care everyone, Annie :)

Hi Amos family. Hope all is well today. I had my 2 week post op check up today. I have lost 20 pounds and 20 3/4 inches! I had a hard day today regarding my protein drink. I drank half or barely half of it, and had the bubbles. A few hours later, up it came, I threw up. For the first time too. Talked to the doc about it, seeing if I need a scope. He thinks that it is the Allegra I took earlier. He thinks it got stuck and blocked everything else. So far today, the only thing that stayed down was a cup of coffee, a small bowl of Lentil soup and some string cheese. All day, hardly anything to eat, and I am not climbing the walls. Nice feeling. So doc gave me some Claritan that dissolves under the tounge. I go back to work tomorrow too. For only 2 hours though. Take care and I'll write more soon. ---Annie :)

One week Post Op: 15 pounds gone forever, and 11 inches gone. I did gain 2 inches in the waist. (But that I'm sure that is just cause I am still swollen from surgery. That is where 4 out of 5 incisions are.) Still in pain from the incisions. They aren't infected. Just inverted as I stated before. I checked with my surgeon, and he says to take the Vioxx, so I took one. Don't notice a difference yet. Maybe by pill two I will. <p> Lee Anne!!! I am so happy for you sister. You didn't give up, you knew what was right for you and you went for it. Bless your determination! Have a great trip to Amsterdam! Enjoy everything. When You get back, your new life will be afoot. Love you much, Annie

Update: Saw my PCP, I don't have an incisional incection. Yippee. Turns out the pain I have is from an error in stitching. 1 out of 4 stitches causes the skin and the tissue underneath to go inward, not outward. That is the pain I have since two of my 5 lap holes are stitched that way. <p> This is a Question for the RN's and DOCTOR's who read this: For the problem I listed above, my PCP prescribed me VIOXX. He says that 3 weeks or so ago, the FDA approved it's use for treating inflamation due to wounds, such as what I have. It causes the inflamation to go down, therefore the pain is lessoned. HOWEVER, after getting home and reading the fine print, I came across this: --have you had serious problems with your stomach in the past? --Tell DOC if you have: ulcer or bleeding symptoms (for instance, stomach burning or black stools, which are signs of possible stomach bleeding). Unexplained weight gain, etc. NOW my question to you is, SHOULD I TAKE THIS? I talked to his nurse after I read this, and she said that he said it is mainly for ulcers, and since I apparently have no ulcer from all the tests and the surgery I had, I'll be fine. (This is only a 4 day perscription). But this still worries me. He knows all about the surgery and all, But it worries me that I'm going to take a small pill that can wind me back in the hospital or worse. Got any advice? If you do, my email addy is: chachacheeks@earthlink.net Thanks for any advice you may have. Annie :)

Hello everyone. I just wanted to give a quick update. I am now 5 day's post Proximal RnY. I have lost 10 pounds so far, and still quite sore. I took only one pain killer last night, cause I had some water go down the wrong pipe and got into a coughing fit that triggered my asthma. Needless to say I was in excrutiating pain. Getting up from a laying position is also very hard. It is getting easier, but only slighly. Also, changing positions from say a sitting to a standing postion hurts a lot. It will get better and that is what I have to keep in mind. My hubby goes back to work tomorrow. So Now, I have to take care of my 6 year old and my 19 month old myself. By the way, My daughter, (19 mons) is very mad at me. She wan'ts nothing to do with me now that I had surgery. Mommy left her for days, and when she came back, she won't hold me. Forget her! (That's her little attitude lately). It hurts but will get better in no time. I'm 5 days post op already, 25 more days to go to hold her. Hope all is well with everyone and bless those who are having surgery this week. Love, Annie
