Today is my 38th birthday. I went back to work today, about 4.5 weeks post-op. Since my surgery on June 25th, I had obly worn shorts with an elastic waistban. Well, today I when I dressed for work, I put on dress pants that I had prior to surgery. The pants fell off of me, and I had to walk around all day with one hand holding up my pants. The good news is that I went shopping for pants after work, and I have dropped three pants sizes in 4.5 weeks!

I had my one month post-op follow-up today. I've been graduated to solid food. Dr. Mehta wants me to get at least 50 grams of protein per day and limit carbohydrates as much as possible. I lost another 4 pounds in the last week, I'm now down a total of 35 pounds. I was a little disappointed that I had only lost 4 pounds this week, but I guess it is better than nothing. Now the real work starts with physical therapy conditioning and a regular exercise routine to follow.

I'm now three weeks post-op. I went to my PCP today, I've lost 31 pounds in the three weeks since surgery. My PCP is very supportive, he recommended a nutritionist and prescribed physical therapy for general conditioning.

Hey David, sorry you're in pain, but don't worry that you don't see results yet! It will take a few weeks before you notice changes, but as your clothes get looser you will have concrete proof whether you can see it or not. Hang in there, we all go through this, it WILL get better!

Well, I just returned home from the hospital. I had lost 7 lbs pre-op, and another 7 lbs since surgery on Wednesday, June 25th.
