Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now for a little over a month – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 81 pounds!!! Good luck!

Hi Everyone...I just wanted to thank everyone who sent me well wishes and congratulations on my surgery Feb 19th. It really meant a lot to me and I apologize for not writing sooner, but just wasn't up to sitting at the computer and reading or writing e-mail. I hope that you will understand. My surgery went smoothly with no complications and I was home on the 22nd of Feb. On the day of my surgery I weighed 264.5 lbs and I now weigh 245 lbs...a total loss of 19.5 lbs so far. Yahoo!!!! I've been cleared to workout at the hospital life management program which is monitored by nurses and trainers...I've gone 3 times this week and it is a struggle (I hate to exercise) but after I finish my program I am loving life! The only problems I have encountered is that nothing seems to bother me food wise, although I am still basically on a liquid diet (I am able to have scrambled egg sub and cottage cheese) which I am enjoying to the max and can't wait until I am allowed more soft foods. I also find that I have real hunger pangs and boy does that make it hard not to eat between meals...I'm getting in my fluids ok...sometimes it is a struggle...but I'm working to get the minimum in every day.
