I went for pre op testing today, and now it's countdown time. 10 days. I have always been as healthy as an ox. (the problem was that i was also the same size as one), so I am hopeful that I am cleared and will be given the A-OK to procede with my journey. Thanks again for the insight and kind words from all!

Kisha, Prayers and healing thoughts will be sent to you as you cross over and begin to become skinny with the rest of us. I think that your are so pretty and can only wonder how much prettier you are going to be after surgery, you go girl....

Hi Kisha, I just wanted to wish you well, I had this a RNY in February and like you am african-american. I wish you well and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I was in the city so I could be your angel but alas, I am in Ithaca (nowheresville, usa). Never-the-less, I am sure you will do fine...and don't worry about the sweets, you can still sneak a piece every once in awhile...just a really small one! This surgery was a Godsend for me and I am sure it will be for you as well. Keep your head up girl...you will do fine.
