Mary, congratulations on your upcoming surgery. May peace and love surround you on your journey and carry you along safely. Remember to drink your water, take your vitamins, walk daily and most importantly, be gentle with yourself along the way. Lastly, don't forget to stop by occasionally and update your profile. Wow....one month from today I will be on the other side!! I can't wait!!! My only fear at this point is that someone will throw a wrench in the works, like they did right before my last surgery date!! I don't think that I could take that emotional roller coaster again!! It wasn't a fun ride the first time!! I have to believe that this time it WILL happen and I'll be on the losing side!!

Well today, I called the New Start office, again, since I hadn't heard anything about my surgery date, yesterday. They told me to call Ida (Dr. Fabito's nurse), when I called her - she put me on hold for a very long time. Then she came back on and said that my surgery date was April 26...I had thought that the middle of the month was a bit earlier than that but....I was just glad to have a surgery date. About 5 minutes after I hung up the phone, she called back and said that she was going over her notes and someone had cancelled out on the 11th, did I want to move my surgery date up? NOW I ASK YOU...WHAT DO YOU THINK?!?! You got it!! Surgery for me on April 11th!! HAPPY DANCE!! HAPPY FEET DOING THE HAPPY DANCE!!

Well, out of curiosity, I called the New Start program and they said that they don't schedule surgeries until they get something in writing from the insurance company. I got their fax number and called BC/BS. They said that they don't send anything in writing until they receive a request for pre-cert. So....then I called New Start back and told them and they said that they would co-ordinate with Ida (Dr. Fabito's nurse) and schedule a date. I called Ida to make sure that she was aware of what was going on and she told me that it would be somewhere in the middle of April. All of that occured this morning before 10:00 a.m., I haven't heard anything from anyone since!! I feel like I am the only one interested in my getting this surgery done. I can understand BC/BS not wanting me to get this done (money out of their pocket) but why on Earth would the doctor's office and the hospital be dragging their heels about this?!?! Confused, again!! I..think......that I .....just .....might ......call them again tomorrow! Can't hurt at this point!

Mary, Best wishes for a surgery date that's soon. Hope when you have surgery it's easy for you with NO complications. Hope you recover quickly so you can enjoy your NEW healthy life.

Hopefully by this time tomorrow, I will have a new surgery date!! Oh, I can't hardly wait!! I wish it was tomorrow! I am tired of waiting...at least now I know that it IS only a matter of time. Good luck and God Bless those going into surgery this coming week and to those who have already had their surgery....weight loss & rapid recovery wishes to you!

OH MY GOD!!! THANK YOU JESUS!! Can anyone say **HAPPY DANCE**?!?!? After spending the major part of this morning on the phone with Blue Cross/Blue Shield, I finally asked to speak to the supervisor. I got disconnected and called back again. The man on the other end took me through the whole thing again! Each time you get a new person you have to explain all the fine details AGAIN! After two hours (with both calls)on the phone, on hold and explaining,etc..... he said that the doctor's were going to be in later today and they would take it before them again with the new weight and height! Oh, Happy days, I left the house for awhile and came back to the message on the answering machine.....YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED!!! YIPPEE!! Now....bummer...I have to wait till Monday to talk with someone to set up the new testing and surgery dates! Oh, I can't hardly wait!! I anticipate this being a VERY long weekend!
