It won't be long for you now. I can not promise that this is an easy thing, But I can tell you. It is worth it. My life has changed so much since my WLS on June 20th, 2001. I am down 130 pounds. I feel 20 years younger and my husband Ed and I can do so many things together now. I no longer sit and watch on the side lines. I am again a part of my family. That is what makes it worth it, the discovery of life again. Good Luck to you. Heal fast the world is waiting on the new and improved you.

Trisha - your first consult is a HUGE deal! Congratulations! I felt very comfortable seeing my surgeon since I knew he'd seen LOTS of overweight people and I didn't feel like he'd lecture me. Ask him what tests he requires preop and how you should go about scheduling them. Also check and see when they're currently booking for surgeries - just to give you an idea when your big day might be. I wish you nothing but the best in your pursuit of a healthy you and am very glad you came out of lurking!

Congratulations on your consult, Trisha. If you have filled out all the paperwork they sent you, you should be good to go. Make sure you ask any questions about the particular surgery you are interested in. This site educates us so well, I had very few questions at my consult. Best wishes to you in this step of your journey.
