WELL IT HAS BEEN A LONG TRIP FROM THE LAST TIME I POSTED ON HERE,BUT THANK GOD!! I HAVE MADE IT OVER TO THE LOSEING SIDE,I LIKE TO THINK OF IT AS THE WINNING SIDE MYSELF,HAD MY SURGERY IN AUG 17TH EVERYTHING WENT WELL,HAD A LOT OF PAIN IN MY RIGHT LEG,AFTER THE SURGERY,THATS THE FUNNY PART,IT WAS NOT MY BELLY THAT WAS HURTING,IT WAS MY LEG,BUT STAYED IN THE HOSPITAL FOUR DAYS,WENT HOME ON MY BIRTHDAY,AUG 21ST,THAT WAS NEAT MY NEW REBIRTHDATE WAS THE 17TH AND MY OLD BIRTHDATE 21ST IN THE SAME WEEK,BUT I WAS STILL HAVING LOTS OF PAIN IN MY LEGS,SO TEN DAYS AFTER I WENT HOME,HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL IN SHELBY WITH MY LEGS HURTING SO BAD,WELL I HAD GOTTEN BLOOD CLOTS IN MY RIGHT LEG FROM THE SURGERY,SO I SPENT THE NEXT 8 DAYS IN THE HOSPITAL HERE AT HOME,SO NOW I'M ON BLOOD THINNERS FOR A YEAR THEY SAY,BUT I'M GETTING BETTER EACH DAY THANK GOD!!! I FEEL GOOD NOW,IT HAS BEEN SIX WEEKS,HAVE LOST ABOUT 42 POUNDS,WOULD I DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN,YOU BET!!!I'M JUST HAPPY THAT I MIGHT STILL HAVE A LIFE AFTER ALL,EACH DAY NOW CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT OF BED,AND IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME SENCE I HAVE FELT LIKE THIS,SO ALL IS WELL IN MY WORLD RIGHT NOW.

I talked to Edith today and she sounds FANTASTIC!!!!She was in such a good mood and she said she felt soooo good,she passed her leak test and got to see her little pouch through her x-ray(how cool...lol).She is off the morphine pump and on the liquid pain meds.She thinks she might be able to go home tomorrow.Edith really helped me alot by talking to me about all that she has been through with surgery and in the hospital,and said I have nothing to worry about that our doctor is the best.I called to see if she was ok and she ended up telling me everyhing was going to be ok for me...she is such a sweet heart...EDITH I AM SO PROUD OF YOU...I will be with you on the "Winning Side" in a day and a half....Renee

I am a WLS friend of Edith and we are using the same doctor. I had not seen an update about her so I called the hospital to see how she is doing.The nurse told me that she is doing GREAT!!!!! but is having alot of pain(of course).She was supposed to have her surgery at 12:00 today but they had to move it up at 2 and she was brought to her room at around 5 so she has not taken a walk yet, but the nurse said they will be getting her up in the morning to start walking....Congrats to you sweetie!!!!!...Renee

Hello all, I just called the hospital to check on Edie and she is hanging in there so far......Please everyone say a PRAYER for her and her Family and I'll update later on her condition ok.....This is her friend and neighbor...(((HUGS)))
