12/18/02 1 DASY BEFORE SURGERY, PREOP TESTING WAS DONE TODAY AT HARPER HOSP , CXR BLOOD WORK AND EKG ALREADY ON MY FILE WAS NOT NEEDED. UA & C&S WAS ALSO DONE, I SPOKE WITH THE ANESTHESIOLOGIST AND CONFIRMED THE ANESTHESIA PROCEDURE FOR SUREGERY. I HAVE TO REPEORT AT 7 AM. SURGERY IS SHCEDULED FOR 9 AM 12/19/02. I ALSO MET WITH A NURSE IN THE RESEARCH DEPT WHOM WANTED A CONSENT FOR THE USE OF ANY TISSUE IF REMOVED FOR THE SCHOOL TO STUDY, I ALSO COMPLETED A DETAILED MEDICAL AND FAMILY MEDICAL HISTORY. I ALSO SPOKE WITH MY SURGEONS OFFICE, STAR PLAYER CHUCKIE, I WAS GIVEN MY PRE OP ORDERS: SOFT DIET FOR 12/17/02, 12/18/02 LIQUID DIET, 12/18/02 BOWEL PREP FLEETS SODIUM PHOSPHATE DRINK, 1&1/2 OZ MIXED WITH 4 OZ OF FLUIDS THEN FOLLOW WITH 8 OZ OF WATER. NPO( NOTHING BY MOUTH AFTER MIDNIGHT). I AM GETTING READY TO PACK A SMALL OVERNIGHT BAG AND THE NURSE ANTICIPATES ME TO DSICHARGE ON 12/22OR 12/23/02 DEPENDING HOW THINGS GO. I AM READY TO GET THIS SURGERY BEHIND ME. I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT BCN IS TRULY GREAT I WAS APPROVED AFTER THE FIRST LETTER AS I STATED AND THEY PROVIDED MY SURGEONS OFFICE WITH THE AUTHORIZATION NUMBER ASAP. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT IN A FEW SHORT HOURS I WILL BE A POST OP. I AM VERY GREATFUL FOR ALL WHO HAVE TOOK THE TIME TO SEND ME WELL WISHES AND SUPPORTIVE EMAILS AS WELL AS THOSE WHO TOOK THE TIME TO ACKNOWLEDGE MY PAGE, TO MY FELLOW PRE OP 12/19rs, GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS, MAY HE CONTINUE TO FOREVER KEEP US ALL IN HIS CARE. INCIDENTLY ALL OF MY POST OP FRIENDS ARE ALL DOING WELL. 1 FRIEND IS AWAITING TESTS FOR BLEEDING HEMMORRHOID HISTORY, BUT OTHER THATN THAT EVERYONE IS A OKAY. BY THE WAY THE SURGERY HERE IS NOW DOWN TO 65 MINUTES OR LESS. IF ANY ONE SHOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE HOSP IATL INFORMATION IS LOCATED AT THE TOP OF MY PAGE. Hi Kisha, I also live in the D. Just wanted to say many Blessings and best wishes for your speedy recovery. I had my surgery 2/15/01 and I couldn't have done anything better for myself! I went from a size 26 to a size 12 and in a couple of weeks I get a tummy tuck. Just be patient with the recovery process and you will do great. Hugs,

Hi Kisha, As you said, we are having surgery the same day - how exciting! The closer it gets, the more excited I am to know that I am going to change back to the kind of person I want to be. We are the same height - I'm 5'4" (well, maybe 1/4-inch shy of 4 inches). I weigh a little more than you do. I honestly don't remember my weight. How's that for being in denial? I'll see you on the losing side. May God bless you and keep you in His capable hands.
