Hello and welcome to the board. In reading your post, you sound ready to go to your appt. I couldn't tell if you had already done this or not, but I would get a letter of medical neccessity from my PCP, to give to surgeon.Have him list anything that is a problem for you, like a bad back or knee problems or apnea, high blood pressure, etc. Also one from my GYN if my weight had been documented thru the years. This can only strenghten your case for any possible insurance requirements.Good luck and best wishes in your journey.Blessings,

You know what Paula...you need to go to another doctor. Sounds like your PCP has a personal opininon issue with WLS. When I told my PCP about my decision to have the surgery, he was thrilled. As a matter of fact all the ailments I was talking to him about he wouldn't even discuss treatment. He said "come back in December after your surgery and all these things will be gone." He said I would probably not even have to continue my blood pressure medication after the surgery. I'm telling you, get another opinion. There are diabetics that have this, heart patients, etc. They all improve after getting the weight off. I'm 5'3 and weigh 279# and my surgery is in 5 days. I'm nervous, but very excited to have it done. Please continue your search to have this life saving operation done. You will feel so much better. God Bless.
