January 17, 2004: I guess it's about time to post an update. I have been real quiet since the failed banding in September. Well on December 16th I had the bypass done. I am 42 pound lighter and feeling pretty good. I must say that this time I will hold posting until I am sure that I have solid points of view. To those of you that wrote during my last crisis. I appreciated all of the remarks and comments. Thank You. My apologies for hiding but I was too much of an emotional wreck to deal with it. I am now getting over the surgery and will be back to update things over the next few weeks. Thanks again for all of the support. Kim a special thanks to you and I hope your surgery went well.

Hi Everyone, I heard from Joe today. He is doing as well as we could expect and wanted me to let everyone know that he really appreciates all of the notes from everyone. Right now he is having a tough time with everything that has happened so he is laying low and taking some time to himself. So from Joe, thanks for everything! He will post again when he feels up to it.

Hi Joe I hope you are recoving and feeling better, Iam sorry your surgery did not go well. I am waiting to have surgery and when I came across your up dates last weekend I was sadden and being inform at the same time because I too have chosen to have the band because I through it was the safe one out of them all, This lets us all know we should not take these journeys lightly. thank you Angelina.

I'm sorry that you have been through so much trouble. Nobody deserves that kind of huge disappointment. I hope you feel better soon. In the event that you're thinking of trying again, have you considered going to Mexico for the larger band size that isn't approved in the US yet? I've seen some people over on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mexicanbandsters/ mention getting the bigger sized band down there. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. :)

Hi Joe - I logged in tonight and I am truly saddened to hear what you are going through. Particularly because when I saw you, you were so happy, upbeat and optimistic that it was contagious! I can only imagine how you must be feeling right now. Take the time you need to get this fiasco taken care of properly, and most importantly, heal! I will be anxiously watching to see how you are doing - please let us know. Hugs -

Joe, I'm so sorry to hear about your dilema and I pray you have a speedy recovery from your surgery. Although there are many times to rejoice with our AMOS friends, unfortunately there are times like these that sadden all of us. I hope that one day you are able to complete your journey. You will be in my prayers my friends. Big Bear Hugs Lesa

Joe, Im so sorry this method of wls wasn't for you. You have every right to be upset and peed off. It really isn't a easy thing to endore and have good feelings about it, if it failed. Maybe later in the future when all the soreness, and pain is just a faded memory, then maybe then you can decide to have wls but next time in another kind of way, open, lap etc. etc. It is worth it. Don't let obesity win over you. Try to hang in there. God Bless **hugs**
