Thinking about you today, I pray you are alright and your family and friends are too. May the flames of fire be put out and put a end to this destruction and terror. God Bless you and keep you. **Hugs**

Hi everyone, first of all my apologies for taking so long in updating, the last 2 weeks have been so hectic, starting with the surgery, going back to work and trying to catch up and then on top of everything the fires in California. Let me start this by giving a special HUG and BIG THANKS to Melody (Biking One) for being such a wonderful angel. Melody, thank you for the phone calls and the encouragement, as well as for all the tips. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this and it was very helpul to me. I had my surgery on October 16th and was sent home on October 18th. Thanks to the Lord I'm doing really, really well. So well in fact that sometimes I wonder if Dr. Q really went in and did my surgery LOL ( I know he did). I've been moving really good, no pain whatsoever and I'm able to drink all my protein shakes, and all my water on a daily basis. I'm trying to stay away from the scale but this morning I couldn't help it and got on it. 21 lbs GONE FOREVER!! I'm so excited!! I'm really going to stay away from it as much as possible but I can already feel my clothes loosening up and what a great feeling. I'm only 12 days out and so far absolutely nothing to complain about. I was even able to return to work last Wednesday at just 5 days out and it's been good. The fires have been so nasty here, the cloud of smoke and of course, we have ashes everywhere. Sometimes it's like a snow storm of ashes coming down. The air quality is very bad but fortunately we're not in danger, though not by much. We had a scare with my sis in law's house, but again thank God it was just a scare and everyone and everything are fine. Well... don't want to bore with lots of details, but wanted to make sure that I didn't let more time pass by without posting. Biking One (Melody) you truly are an angel. Thank you again. And thanks to everyone else who posted best wishes and prayed. I'm very grateful.

Barbara, I am praying that the enormous fires blazing in Rancho Cucamonga, CA (where you live) do not touch you, your family, or your belongings. This kind of stress is horrendous anytime; it has to be especially terrifying when you're so recently post-op. Please, if you get the chance, write to let us know that you are OK. Your angel...

Angel swooping in for a landing...to announce that Barbara J. is home from the hospital -- officially on the "losing side" as if Thursday afternoon! She is already drinking 60 oz. of water per day (glug, glug) and reports that she is exercising by walking down her street and up the stairs. Way to go, Barbara! Please stop by her surgery page and give her a verbal pat on the back for a successful beginning to her new lifestyle, post-wls.

Angel swooping down to announce that Barbara is out of surgery, -- at last. Her 12:30 operation ended up happening around 4:40 (boys and girls, can you say 'butterflies in the stomach?), so she's just now in the recovery room. Stop by her surgery page, will ya, to welcome her to the losing side. Thanks!

Angel on a mission! Barbara is having surgery TOMORROW (Thursday). She's fortunate in that she'll be in the very capable, skilled hands of Dr. Quebbemann. Even so, I know she'll appreciate your extending a hand of support by posting your positive thoughts to her surgery page! Thanks!
