I cannot believe it has been so long since I have visited. I am doing great. I don't seem to be having any problems eating anything except sugar and my mother in law's gravy. I was struggling getting enough protein and liquids. I am finally getting enough of each. I have lost 137 lbs. My surgery is Oct 9th. I cannot believe how much better I feel. I excercise every day. I love going to the Gym. That is something I never though I would be doing. I still have a long way to go but I know I will make it. I still have days I catch myself snacking and have to do a reality check. I am grateful for my tiny pouch because I can't binge. I cannot believe how much our grocery bill has gone down. I must have been eating so much! The hair loss has finally started slowing down. Thank goodness. I have a lot of hair but, I was starting to get worried. I am starting to feel so much better about myself too. Thank all of you so much for all your great advice and support. It is nice not having to take this journey alone. My only reason for this surgery was health reasons. I was literally dying. My liver function has improved and my diabetes is gone. My husband says I no longer snore and I can buy clothes at a regular store now! I have a wonderful angel that has now become a dear friend. Thank you for taking this journey with me! -Busy Bee (Liz in CA.)

12-9-2003 Wow it has been so long since I have posted! I am doing wonderful. I have lost a total of 82lbs and feel wonderful. I opted to have this surgery to literally save my life. I had been so sick for about three years. It was getting much worse and I needed to do something. WLS has saved me and will allow me not only to live longer but to also to truly let me live my life. I am so grateful to my wonderful surgeon and to a wonderful Angel that has now become a good friend. I am thankful for this site. It has given me so much information and helped me not feel so alone and scared. My health is improving greatly. I have so much energy. I don't seem to have any problems. Happy Holidays to everyone and have a joyful New Year!

Hello Everyone, This is Liz (busybee) I am felling well enough to sit at and give you an update. I have a wonderful Angel that has taken good care of me. I have had such wonderful support from all of you. My surgery lasted so long because of scar tissue from a previous surgery. Dr. Dallal is fantastic. He took his time and took such good care of me. He has called me several times to check on me and I would never have a different doctor. I am finally able to get enough fluids in. Thank you for everything! -Liz

Shamefaced angel, coming in for a landing! To all of those who've asked, Liz (aka Busy Bee) was able to come home from the hospital on Monday -- hurray! Since her surgery was Thursday, we were beginning to think she'd checked into the Hotel California! LOL! Anyway, she's doing well and would, I'm sure, enjoy a "welcome home" message from all of her AMOS brothers and sisters.

Hey Liz! Glad to hear your surgery went well. Hope you get to come home soon and now concentrate on recovering and being a loser! I never thought I would say that to anyone and it would be considered a good thing. Best of luck to you and my prayers are with you. I know Dr. Dallal did a great job!

I was hoping to see Liz in the hospital today, but because I have a head cold, I called to wish her well. She sounds GREAT and will be going home on Sunday. Please join me in congratulating Liz on her arrival to the losing side!!
