Sue: My surgery is scheduled for 4/26/01. I also attend support at St. V's. Maybe I will see you there in June. Then we will both be on the other side. I was also at the meeting you attended. Good luck...God's walking with you. Karen Brown 4/26/01 Dr. Inman, St. V's Indpls.,IN

Hi there Sue!!Congrats on your date....you got in really quickly!! I am up in Canada and I am 10 days post op VBG. I started out at 260 and I am 242 this am!! That is 18 lbs gone in 10 days!! I am feeling better every day but I must warn you to completly enjoy your food now!!!! Go for several last suppers and indulge, the mind thing is hard to get over...I want to eat!!! I want bread and all the "bad" stuff. Every time I feel crappy, I have a bath (without getting my incision wet) and look at myself and think...is a bad of chips or a pizza worth carrying around all this??!!! Not a chance!! My incision is healing very nice, the only ugly part is the little staple holes, it is dry and no infection, my back is sore and sleeping is getting better each night!! I have to crush up my advil, they will block me and I suck at the pureed thing, would much rather chew well!!. SOme things I can eat are...crackers(they turn to mush) mashed potatoes, fish, flaked ham, salmon, tuna, turkey, cheerios and milk(2oz of cheerios) I drink about 21/2 cups of water between breakfast and lunch another between lunch and supper and another after supper. Get lots of rest, enjoy your last meals and remember........ NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS......... Good luck..Stacey from Canada:)
