Hi Anika, I was reading some profiles and found your's today, how are you doing??? I also wanted to let you know of local support group in Cinti, called wls butterflynetwork. We would love for you to join us, we always love seeing those that have been a long term post op, they offer such a great source of knowledge. We had surgery the same day..(April 26th, 2001) I got home on Sunday...I wish both you and Rex the very best in your new life....Our ride has just begun....be well, and heal swiftly

Well, both Rex and I made it through our RNY surgeries on the same date - but barely. Three days before my surgery the docs found polyps in my stomach. Until they were able to confirm they were benign, they would not do my surgery. So they did Rex's surgery at 8 and were hoping to do mine at 10. However, they didn't get the lab results back until almost 11, but they did mine at 11:30. So we are both on the "other side" and got home today. We aren't feeling great but glad it's over! Will post more later.

TOMORROW IS OUR DAY!!!! During pre-op tests they found stomach polyps and I had to have an endoscopy to be sure they were benign. The surgeon won't get the results back until 9 am tomorrow. My surgery was at 8 and Rex's at 10 so they switched us - just in the nick of time. So, I guess there is a slight possibility that I won't have surgery although the gastro guy said according to the way they looked, he thought they were benign. I am not giving up even up to the last minute. KEEP US IN YOUR PRAYERS!!!!!
