I am now 4 weeks post and I thought that it was time to update. I am feeling much better this week and I have been able to do my 25 min aerobics at the gym. I need to do this to build up my stamina and muscle tone because I am going back to work on Nov. 29th. In the eating department I am doing ok. I still have to grind my food and I have learned what I can't eat yet, I hope. I cannot handle pasta. So I concentrate on getting my protein in and that usually consists of eggbeaters poached scrambled eggs, low fat cottage cheese, non fat cream cheese and protein drinks. I have lost 42lbs. thus far and it feels good to get this weight off. My focus continues to be on becoming healthy and not the number of pounds that I lose. I do not own a scale. I would like to say to all those who are considering WLS that this is a major operation and the recovery can be difficult. I do not want to gloss over this fact because it is a reality that I don't think has been mentioned often on this site. Nevertheless, what this site does do very well is provide the encouragement to help everyone get to the other side and it has helped me so much. I am indebted to all the wonderful people who took the time to offer me support. Having said this I want to offer my encouragement to all those who are pre and post that this surgery is definitely worth the discomfort and eating trials that you will go through as you learn your way to better eating habits and eventually better health. Good health to all and God bless!!
