ANGEL UPDATE ON KELLY T.: I am very disheartened to post the following update on Kelly, which I received from her via email today:

"I had another set back and ending back in the ER and hospital for 4 days. After the second surgery they left a 12" drainage tube in abdominal to catch any leaks. The many tests revealed that the leak sealed so he started to advance the tube out of my body by four inches out of my body. Because the tube had been in my body for 5 weeks, live tissue formed around the tube and when it was pulled it disturbed the leak again....not to mention extreme pain. There was so much blood draining into the tube that they thought that I was hemorrhaging. Thank god I wasn't! They explained the blood as a pocket/cavity of blood that formed at some point. While in the hospital the entire tube was removed and replaced with a smaller tube in which he is advancing every two days.

I don't know what to think. The doctor says I have a "controlled leak", meaning that anything that leaks out will go into the tube. I hope I'm not being experimented on. I don't think the doctor has a lot of experience of leaks. I'm back on clear liquids for awhile until the leak seals again. Hopefully soon.

I've been staying with the folks for a few days because I've been in so much pain. The pain is actually worse than when I had the first and second surgery. The good news is that I have lost weight. I started out at 285 and now weigh 250."

Kelly truly needs our support. Please take the time to send her your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Our sweet KELLY T., in all of her post-op complications wrote ME to congratulate ME on my weight loss. It takes a special kind of someone to support others while they are dealing with difficulties.

Kelly has reported the following to me: " I have very good news to report on my leak. It's sealed!! I went for tests yesterday and it appears the leak has sealed. The GT tube was taken out, so no more feeding by it. They drainage tube in the small pouch will remain for another 10 days as a precaution. I've noticed that the drainage tube has more blood leaking through it than usual. I don't know if it's coming from the wound or that I'm now moving around more at night stirring up things. I'll call the doctor today to find out his opinion. The doc said the next step for me will be to get this wound to heal. Maybe because I had two surgeries that it's taking longer than usual. The stitches haven't been holding so it keeps splitting open. The doctor only saw me for a few minutes yesterday and didn't have time to re-stich me but said he would do it next office visit, so it must be no big deal. Thank you and AMOS for all your support and prayers during this difficult time.

Kelly is a real trooper. Please continue to send her your support!
