Sorry I haven't been back on-line for a while. I want to thank my sweet wife and angel, Lynn, for keeping you updated. I am 10 days post-op and had my first follow-up appointment with Dr. Pearce today. I am happy to say I am doing GREAT!!!! I got my staples taken out .... YEAH!!!Feels much better. I am also happy to report that I have lost 36 pounds in the last 10 days ... WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO. I feel better already. I had my first post op restaurant meal this evening ... Lynn and I shared an order of veal parmagiana at Olive Garden ... spent less than $20 on our meal, and brought home leftovers! We are both pretty cheap dates now LOL. Thanks to all of you who posted your good wishes to my page and to all of you who were praying for me. Good luck and God Bless you all and God Bless America.

Angel Update: Dr. Pearce released Ken yesterday evening and we brought him home. He did great on the ride home (3 hours!). I can't believe he is doing so well only 3 days post op from open RNY. He specifically asked me to express his thanks for the outstanding care he received from Dr. Pearce and the nursing staff at Edmond Regional Medical Center. He was so impressed with their professionalism and the effort they put into quality patient care. They are certainly tops in our book! Even though they took wonderful care of him, he is glad to be home. He had a scrambled egg with cheese for breakfast and handled it with no problems (our doctor has us on purees and soft foods while still in the hospital and encourages transition to "regular foods" as tolerated). He looks great and feels pretty good except that he is very tired and his ribs are sore - both pretty normal for a newbie. Thank you to everyone who posted good wishes on his page. I printed his card and took it to him in the hospital and read it to him. He was very touched by your support. I am working at home for a few days so I can take care of Ken, so I must go now and get a little work done while he is napping.

Ken, Congratulations on your surgery! I am glad it went well and I wish you good luck and good health with your recovery. I am sure your angel, Lyn, will be taking good care of you. A WLS friend,

Angel Update: Ken had his surgery this morning and came through it with flying colors. I was just speaking with him on the phone and he is alert and doing well. His only complaint is a sore throat and it hurts when he coughs. He has been enjoying those wonderful ice chips that we all loved so much and got some throat lozenges for a special treat! I was unable to be with Ken today, because I was in another hospital with our oldest son, who was recovering from viral meningitis (he is doing fine now, by the way). My sister stood in for me at the hospital and was amazed that he was so wide awake and alert right after he got out of recovery and to his room. I would like to be the first to welcome Ken, my DH, to the slim side. I can't wait for him to big a BIG LOSER in the AMOS tradition. Congratulations sweetheart .... it only gets better from here!
