Ted, I have nothing but good thoughts for you. Right after surgery 09-18 02 just a few days ago, I would have been saying something a whole lot different, but after getting home where I am comfortable, and where I have my husband to care for me, I would do it all over again, and don't worry about missing the food the first week or so, It's the last thing I think about. I'm just happy getting in my water, walking, and getting back into bed. The best of luck to you, and a quick recovery to you. Melody DeRose

Congratulations Ted! You're on your way! I am also a patient of Dr. Rosenthal's and going to Cleveland Clinic of Weston. I'm about 2 months ahead of you in "the process", as most of my appointments were in August. Write anytime if you have any questions as I feel we're all kinda going thru this process together. Good luck to you.

9-21-02 Have all necessary apointments lined up for October 14, 2002 and it will be a full day a Cleveland Clinic. So far the staff at the clinic has been wonderful. I was going to have the surgery using secondary insurance but when I arrived for my first visit I found out that Cleveland Clinic has just started taking Humana HMO. I wasnt aware of this 5 weeks earlier when I made my appointment but the staff managed to get me in anyways ! This has seemed to cause confusion and I believe some bad feelings at my Primary Care Dr Office. I told them Cleveland Clinic would make at the appointments for the pre-op. This is where I think the PCP office feels they are loosing control. I was advised the referal would take 7-10 days. Seems like a long time to me..What a great deal for them though, all they have to do is fill out a few referals and they are done. Well we will see what that story turns out t be..

Hi Ted!!! Welcome to the site! I am not sure what weight you are starting at, but my husband and I have both had the surgery. He started out at 474 and he is now down to 250 and has about 30 pounds of loose skin to get rid of with plastic surgery. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Sometimes its nice to have a male point of view. We have a website linked to my profile if you click on my name. Lots of before pics and after pics of David. Good luck to you! This is a huge step and you should be very proud of yourself!
