I am 28 years old with a 2 year old daughter. I have been over weight my entire life and I have let it hold me back from enjoying life to the fullest. I thought about WLS before but felt it would be like admitting defeat so I continued with the diets and the gym memberships and the trainers. After several years, frustrations, debt, and extra pounds later, I have finally decided that I need help and quick! I have ballooned to over 310lbs-- for a long time my weight stayed at about 250 or so but after the birth of my daughter I started to have serious medical issues which prevented me from being as active as I normally was.
I totally know that my body is telling me that if I dont get this weight off--I will not be here to raise my daughter. I want to cry as I write this because I just know that God has something so awesome waiting at the end of this journey. I have been working at the same telco company for over 5 years and when I originally looked into having this surgery it was not covered through my insurance. By the grace of God, and Angel was delivered from my HR Dept to discuss my concerns regarding why this was not covered. After hardwork on his part he finally got the insurance covered through our plan with United Healthcare. I am happy to say that now I am working with BRS to seek approval for surgery and its so awesome I just want to cry! I will continue to keep everyone posted on my progress as this site has been so helpful in my research process and the stories listed have made me cry several times. I truly hope to be a blessing to someone else and I go though this journey.
