9 Years Later
Nov 01, 2009
So, I got an email congratulating me on 9 years and asking for an update, so here I go! My total weight loss after surgery was 115 libs! That wsa great but not really sustainable....kept it off for a little while but the weight gradually crept back. Not too much but I settled at a doable weight which was 100 lbs from when I had surgery. Went back to work 2 years ago - lots a sitting and snacking so I gained another 20...YUCK. However, this past June I started weight watchers and have lost 10 lb so far with the goal to loose the other 10. It has been slow but I am back on track with eating healthier and getting more exercise. I joined a gym that is on my way home from work so I have no excuses.
Bottom line is that I still look great...or at least a lot better. THe strange thing is that while I had no problem telling anyone and everyone about my surgery in the beginning, now I keep the fact pretty private. Maybe it is because there is still some stigma attached to people who have the surgery?? I can't figure it out, particularly since I have managed to keep most the weight off I should be shouting about how successful it was. Oh well, all I know is that there is never a time that I have regretted doing this...I feel great, look great and am much much happier!!
