Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you know I am having technical difficulties with my profile. I want to add my new ANGEL's name to my profile and it will not update. I keep getting an error message. ANYWAY, my angel is TRICIA NELSON!!! Wonderful to talk to and very sweet.

I sometimes think the pain we fear can be built up until there is NO way we could tolerate it. Then the real thing is not at all what we feared it would be. Remember you will have pain meds to help you through the first few days. I've heard it said that if you have someone pinch your achelles tendon as hard as they can, you will feel real pain. If you can tolerate this you can tolerate anything. Or you can have them do this to slowly build up your pain tolerance. LOL Can't imagine why anyone would want to anticipate pain. shrug, but maybe feeling pain can give someone a reference point. Best wishes for a successful surgery. May you recovery quickly with NO complications so you can enjoy your Healthy NEW life.

Hi, Pamela! Congratulations on your surgery date- it will come faster than you think! I read your post about pain and I want to say that I was the same way!I am such a wimp about pain! I had my surgery Jan 29th,and I want you to know that I have ZERO threshhold for pain and my pain with an open rny was much less than what I expected. We are all different, but I hope this helps you. My bigger problem was being completely energyless and having those nurses constantly harping at me to get up and walk. However, I am a good girl so I did and I am sure it helped but what helped most was getting off the pain meds! What pain I did have was more achy and tylenol was really all I needed. Once those pain meds were out of my system my energy came way back and so here I am, 10 days postop, feeling better and more energetic than I have in years!Go figure! take care

I'm so happy to be the first to post on your surgery page! I want to wish you luck on your upcoming "New Birthday", and to tell you that I think it is normal for all of your fears. I'm having them too, and we have the same date. Just think, 37 more days and we will have a new lease on life.
