Denise M.
At 40 years old, I decided I needed help losing weight. I have had weight problems my whole life. I have lost large amounts of weight twice. When I was 17, I lost 100 pounds by eating 900 calories a day (not healthy!) and I lost 70 when I was 36 on the Prism diet. I gained it all back and then some. At my highest, I weight 282.
I have had 4 back surgeries and was told by my surgeon I would be having more if I didn't lose weight. Recently I have had problems with one knee. After a lot of research, the lap band seemed like the way to go for me. I quickly learned that not all bariatric doctors are alike and I finally found a good fit for me at Puget Sound Surgical Center in Edmonds, WA.
My insurance didn't cover the lap band surgery so we had to come up with the money. I am so happy the money came through and the surgery went so well. My wonderful daughter and husband have been huge supports to me.
