Well tomorrow is five weeks out and I have lost 33 lbs. I am starting on soft foods now and it is a trial and error thing for me. Some things that I thought would be good don't stay down. Some things I think will make me sick stay down great. It is so great though to not really feel hungry and just eat a small portion. Even though the family is eating things I love (used to love) it doesn't bother me at all. The hardest thing is trying to get all the protein in. I am using ISOPURE and it doesn't taste bad. But it takes me over 4 hours to drink the 12-16 ounces I have to drink in order to get 75 grams of protein. Oh well, it's a small price to pay I guess. To all the post ops-how are you doing. To you pre-ops, get your testing done and get ready for the ride of your life.

Hi all. I am doing great. I have lost 21 pounds from pre-surgical weight plus the 20 pounds I gained in hospital from IV fluids. It is unreal. I can't even keep up with myself anymore. My blood pressure is 105/56 and I am on no meds. This is a miracle. I can't thank Dr. Case enough for dedicating his practice to helping us. He, Lisa and Eileen are the greatest and there are no words or thanks suitable to tell them how I feel. Please don't forget that Tuesday, August 19 is our next support group meeting. These meetings are so important for us--everyone's experience is different yet we can offer support and advice. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at All Saints Church (same as last month). Please call Lisa or Eileen and let them know you are coming. I look forward to seeing all of you there. Debbie

I stayed in ICU 2 nights got moved to a regular room yesterday morning and was released this morning at 11 AM. I hope your recovery is moving along for you. Joe in Clearwater.

I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all

Well my mom got through the surgery just fine and she is in intensive care for the evening. Dr. Case had a little bit of trouble with her gall bladder which delayed the surgery but the bypass went great! In all total it took her 5 and half hours. She is really alert and is very thankful for everyones prayers! They hope that she will be out of intensive care by tomorrow. Once again my mom thanks everyone and so does the family! Thank you! Lauren (Debbie's daughter)
