"ICU was amazing. It was like the best of the best! Then, A dark doorway opened up and shoved me into the REGULAR hallway with nurses that didn't care about individuals and only cared about paperwork and forget whoever it was that pushed a button! (except CNA JENN, who went out of her way to find some clean sheets for me and assisted me in changing them as well as my wet robe since I had just broken a fierce fever of over 103- thanks to my own assumptions of what the cause was and so for over 24 hrs tried to get someone to hear me and just test me and give me antibiotics- and had drenched my bed in sweat and was very uncomfortable! I walked around the nurses station dozens of times and always found nurses hanging out, joking, talking, yet no one was willing to assist a patient in distress! I literally had to go out and into the hallway several times and to the nurse counter, just to get noticed! The Nurse button or Nurse extension was never answered in a timely manner. I used the extention once to request a tylenol and didnt get it till over an hr later once my fever had spiked from 100-103! Granted there are wonderful doctors tht make their living here at this hospital, but the sad truth is that if you are sick, this hospital is not the best place to be!"

"I've met with Dr. Boynton once already and meet with him tomorrow to set my surgery date. He is by far one of the most informative and honest doctors that I've ever met. He didn't hesitate to answer my questions-I had a list-and even took the time to draw a diagram of the pouch and what I could expect. He was very considerate that I had concerns and he was patient and answered all of my questions and reassured me that I was a good candidate, especially since I had already attended the New Beginnings program that he requires for his patients. (I was originally going to be a patient of Dr. Goldstein for the Lapband procedure but after going thru the entire mandatory pre-op processes that he has all his patients do, I had second thoughts about whether or not this procedure was right for my particular lifestyle, expectations, etc. In the end, despite his awesomeness, I chose to leave Dr. Goldstein and in exchange, transferred to an even more amazing surgeon for a different procedure, The Roux En Y with Dr. Boynton) He made me feel at ease and I left his office feeling confident, prepared and genuinely excited for my new life to begin! Unfortunately, there was some serious snags and confusion in the administrative side of his offices with obtaining all of my 100%-completed-and-ready-to-go insurance documents from all of the specialists, testing facilities, doctors offices, etc to their office, so I had to create my own portable medical file and on several occassions refax documents to their coordinator for the insurance approval to even be submitted. I was disappointed on the administrative side of the offices and had to stay in constant communication with their insurance paperwork coordinating team but Dr. Boynton is worth all of the hassle. In the end, after dozens of phonecalls and refaxes, my file was finally submitted to the insurance company for approval and without hesitation it came back in an amazing 3 days that I was approved! Yay! So tomorrow I go to visit with Dr. Boynton and set up a date for surgery. "

"Dr. Goldstein was awesome. I went to one of his seminars and it compelled me to start making changes in my life and finally do what I was afraid to do which was get the ball rolling for wls. He was every bit as animated and informative during the first consult as he was doing his presentation at the seminar. He was very detailed and made sure all of my questions were answered and even showed interest in me as a person and not another file. Even though I am still considering rny instead of the lapband, which is his specialty, I don't think I will ever be as lucky in finding such a personable doctor that goes above and beyond for his patients like Dr. Goldstein, but I will just have to see..."
