I had never been interested in gastric bypass-my weight has never effected my everyday activities-but then I became diabetic-I thought ok-will take medicine and that is that-I became the diabetic guru-I can tell you everything about type II diabetes-I kept my blood sugar tight-I ate like i was suppose to--but then one day-my blood sugar reading started to get over 300-for no reason-after talking in length with my medical doctor and he informed me that I was going into hyperglacemic failure (insulin resistant)-I knew I had to do something.  My mother died at 45 due to complications from diabetes type I and I did not want  that to happen to me.
I am 3 weeks out from surgery and have lost 19 lbs so far-it is coming off slow-but I'll take it-and even if no more weight loss occurs-that's  ok because the diabetes is gone and life is good!!!
