Like Sharon said, I am very sure it is normal to be afraid. I remember I was afraid when I had my oral surgery and two D&C's and my hysterectomy. I just pray and ask the Lord to watch over me and guide my surgeons hands. You know we all will be praying for you to have a safe and unventful surgery and recovery time. Take care,

Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.” William Jennings Bryan. I am wishing you all the best for the next chapter of the rest of your life.

Heidi...I think it only natural to be scared! THis is a life changeing moment. Oh and as to your post on the message board today...you said you think if God wanted you to be thin you'd be thin then you think about that job you got that now has insurance...Whoa! Did I hear God speak to you in that paragraph? I think he is sending you a message there....His approval...Just my opinion.Jamie

Hi Heidi, I had my pre-op testing on December 19th and had surgery on January 6th, about 3 weeks before. So don't worry, your doc knows what he's doing...LOL Good luck to you and here's wishing you a speedy recovery ahead of time.

Heidi, I wish you the peace of mind to follow through with your surgery. Any type of major surgery can be scary but you have to place some faith in the doctor, yourself and to whatever higher power that you believe in. As for me, I was SMO...almost 400 lbs and I had 0 complications from my surgery. My potassium level dipped which required an extra day in the hospital but that was a problem prior to having surgery. I am not 14 months post op and the only issue that I have is being constipated at times. BUT that is due to diet and being restricted and is easily resolved. We do understand your fears and your concerns. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and know that you have made the right decision. Here is wishing you all the best. KimmieTN
