I went to the Dr's office this morning. 9 days since surgery and I have lost 17lbs. I am so competitive still.....I want to know where that fits in with everyone else! Anyways, everything looked good. I am now starting phase 3 so I rushed home and made me a scrambled egg! It's the little things that get me going at this point. I was very excited also to learn I can eat chili now!!!! Finally foods I can relate to! I had a little discomfort in the upper left quadrant of stomach and she said to watch it as it was normal. I feel better getting the stables and drain out..at least mentally! I feel more focused today on the goal and knowing I still made the right decision. This past week has been tough messing with all my emotions. My 8 month pregnant wife has been all too great in letting me be the focus right now. I am ready to turn that over to her today! I'll post more later! Joemama

Just to update here....everything is fine...actually so fine it is making me nervous. I am walking between 1 to 2 miles a day (even got caught in the rain today like an idiot!) an getting roughly 60 grams of protein in. I know it should be more but I am experiencing lack of imagination. Tomorrow is Monday and my wife is going to work leaving me "home alone" for the 1st time since surgery. I plan to shine with the protein! I tend to eat more than I should right now and drink too much at one time but no ill effects yet! I scaled back in fear of stretching my pouch. After a very foul BM today I realize that I didn't stretch my pouch because it was liquids but instead loaded up my intestines with too much protein that didn't get absorbed. I'm getting it better each day I think. I'll post more wisdom later.
