Jolie Campbell (and any others that are still searching for the answer),
I am 21 days post op tomorrow. I have a LAP Roux n Y surgery on July 30th of this year. Other than extreme tiredness, from the surgery and anxiousness from the anesthesia, both of which seem to have finally passed for the most part, I have done Great!
I have lost 26 lbs so far, and am sitting here in a pair of shorts I have not worn in years! No this journey is not an easy fix, nor are there any guarentees that you will have no complications. But there are also no guarentees you will not suffer complications from MO. This is a personal CHOICE only you can make.
If you choose to have surgery, there will most likely be times when you question why you did this to yourself, (I have had plenty of them) and you will need to be able to look back on your reasons for making the decision to have surgery and reassure yourself that you made the decision for the right reasons for you.
Do your reseach, but in addition, spend an lot of time searching yourself to discover honestly why you want this solution, and if it is really the right choice for you, if you have faith, pray..a LOT.. make sure you are confident this is the path your higher power has put you on. And if after all that you decide it is.. GO FOR IT!
Check your doctors surgery background, complication rate etc. and make sure you feel good about him! Then get ready for the ride of your life! This is an experience!
