Hi all! Just a few more days. Boy am I feeling all kinds of things. Started having dreams last night that I kept trying to drink my diet coke and kept getting sick. My face is all broke out like a kid going through the CHANGE! I feel butterfly's in my stomach and can't seem to think of much else. I am a little scared of the surgery but more scared of the pain afterwards. I know that it is only tempary and will go away but I don't like the not knowing of it. I think that is what scares me most. I have my hospital bag packed and my child packed up to go to Grandma's and Grandpa's for a couple of days. My laundry is done and my house is mostly clean so trying to keep myself busy has been hard. My mother took me shopping today just to get me out of the house for a while. That worked. We walked around Wal-mart for 3 hours. Guess I at least got my PA in for the day. My son is feeling my nerves and isn't wanting much to do with me right now. I try not to but my mom says they can sense it. She has been cooking me all my favorites. I shouldn't miss them for a while. I am just ready to get this started. A new Life. A new body. I can't wait. I will update the first chance I am feeling up to it. I am taking a before and after picture so I will update also. Thanks for everybodies prayer and wishes and help with my journey. I could have never done this without all of your support. Wish me luck!!! Jonita

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery and your new lifetime journey on the losing side. Right now you are probably on a rollercoaster emotionally - excited, nervous, scared.... This is normal - don't let it freak you out. Take the time over the next few days and 'center' yourself mentally - focus your mind on other things and keep yourself physically busy too. You will find that your big day will be here in no time and you will be calm and ready for it. We will be here ready to welcome you over to the losing side and support you in your journey. Good luck and hope everything goes well for you. Sarah G LapRNY 6/22/04 295/258/150

Congratulations on your surgery date! I have some Zen Wisdom for you - Nothing exists but momentarily...One thing flows into another...observe things as they are, let everything go as it goes. This is to put everything under control in its widest sense. --- May God keep you close to his side as you travel your new journey. You will have ups and downs. You can always turn to us, your AMOS family, we will give support, comfort and encouragement. You will find this will be the best thing you could ever have done for yourself as well as your family. I know that was true for me. Keep us posted when you reach the "other" side. I pray for a speedy and easy recovery for you. Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly. We all like to see how we are doing!!! Make sure you take pictures. It’s great to see the new you emerge!!! Not to mention the look on YOUR face when you look at those pictures and compare them in a few months! It’ll be a BIG WOW!!! Please remember too, that this is a *tool* to use. Make sure you use it wisely. The first year it’s pretty easy, after that I’ve been hearing (I’m not speaking from experience as I’m not a year out yet) that it gets increasingly difficult. Choose the right foods and measurements wisely! Good luck and God Bless!!! RNY 10/31/03 down 114 pounds– I’M IN THE CENTURY CLUB!!! Hi Jonita! Big congratulations on your surgery date! I bet you are so excited! Just hang in there and try to be patient! Don’t worry if you are nervous, scared, excited or go through a thousand different emotions. This is all normal, so go with the flow! There’s really nothing you can do with all those feelings surfacing. You may start to doubt yourself and question your decision to have surgery. Just about everyone has had this happen to them. You’re making a decision to have a better quality of life and YOU deserve it!! That gut feeling or that little voice inside lets you know that you’re doing the right thing! Remember that we’re all family here and we’re ready to give you our support, lend an ear and not judge. You know you can always come here and get a dose of confidence and good will! There are lots of us who have had surgery and are in your corner rooting for you!! I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you today and that you are in my thoughts and prayers for a successful, problem-free surgery and recovery. I’m so happy for you. Soon you will be on the other side and will join the ranks of the losers. Get ready for your life to change forever. Wishing you much success in your weight-loss journey. Hugs to you today. AUGUST 23, 2004!!!!!!! Finally I have my date. It is going to be a very long month wait. Thank goodness I have the new child to keep me busy. I am so excited. My surgeon is wonderful. He has a great bed side manner and is so calming. I felt very cofortable with him. I have been maintaining my weight loss for now and I am still sitting at 329 pounds but Dr. Porter says that I don't need to loose anymore if I can't but I do need to maintain the current weight at least. I will keep you all updated. The count down begins!!!

Hello all, Just wanted to send an update. I know it has been awhile. Alot has been going on with me in the last 2 months. I go tomorrow 07/14/04 to finalize the adoption of my new son. The lord works in mysterious ways sometimes and has answered my prayer about being a mother. So now I get to be a mom and work on my weight. So many good things have been happening to us this year. I feel very blessed. I had to miss my last class back in May so I made it up on June 24th and have my appointment with my surgeon on 07/15/04 at 9:00am. I will get my date for surgery then. So I was pushed back a little on the schedule for my surgery but Nathan is so worth it. He has made me and my husband so happy. So I will update more on Thursday when I get my date for surgery. My mother came here to help me out with the new grand baby and me for when I have my surgery. My company Bank of America just changed their policy for adoption leave and I start my 8 weeks of leave tomorrow. So I pray that they can schedule my surgery during this time.
