I'm calling today the first day on my journey back to health.  I repasted my entries from my old profile below, which basically starts from the time of my approval and goes to when I was at goal weight.  But I don't want to bore anyone with the details of all of that if they don't want to be....

Long story short:  I had my laproscopic RNY on 5/03/04.  I had no complications and over the next two years I lost 109 pounds.  Up until April of last year, I weighed between 145 and 148 pounds and was in the best shape of my life.

Then I unexpectedly got pregnant.  And gained 60 pounds.  I really never thought that kind of weight gain while pregnant after WLS surgery would be possible, but apparently I just fooled myself because here I am with a five month old daughter and weighed in this morning at 194.4 pounds.

And so the journey back to health begins after many false starts and weak attempts.  I'm going to approach this as the addict that I am: one day at a time.  So just for today, I went back to the gym I abandoned a year ago and worked out for a half hour.  Just for today, I am monitoring my carbs and watching my protein and taking the vitamins that I haven't in a long long time.  Just for today I am going to try to love the person I am and not mourn the person I was.  That's all I can do.

We'll see what happens tomorrow.
