Congratulations on your approval. What an exciting time. Don't worry about your Mom not being supportive. She will be. Just like you said, she probably is scared that something will happen to you. Two of my three sons were not as supportive as I would have liked for them to be, but it was only because they were afraid I would either die or that I would not be the same person after surgery. Once it was over with and they saw how great I felt, they have been as thrilled as I have been.

Kathie ~ Congrats on your approval!! :o) Half the battle is already over!! I too am approved for surgery and am in the process of scheduling my pre-surgery consultations. I know how you feel about family not being that supportive - there are some in mine who aren't thrilled either but, Kathie, TRUST me, if you GIVE IT TO THE LORD, He will NOT steer you wrong! With God, everything is possible. I too went to the memorial site and read everyone's profiles, as well. I too went through the depression wondering if I'm going to leave my family, etc. All I can say is I finally realized I am dying every day being a morbidly obese person because I cannot enjoy all the things that life has to offer anyway. I would rather die trying to MAKE my life better than continue on this downward spiral to ill-health and suffer even longer. Please, look at it as a blessing because we now HAVE the chance at a new life!! God Bless and feel free to e-mail me if you ever need anything! †

Hang in there Kathie! I had a BMI of 40 and was approved after an appeal letter to my insurance. My surgery is May 7th and I can hardly wait. We are all praying for you I knkow you'll get your date soon!
