5/7/07 I'm 47years old at 6' 1" and 300lbs. This is bounderline surgery stuff but with my sleep apnea it's a go. I retired as a police officer due to a bad back and essentially being to fat. I live in the twin cities, mn and currently work in security for schools. I'd love to drop 100lbs and my surgery is scheduled for 5/9/07. I know lots of people who have had the RNY and all are very happy with it. However, I'm having the lap band so it is different and hopefully has the same results. I started jumping through the hoops to get this a year ago when my doctor suggested it. I guess if your doctor suggests it it means you are fat. He is a big advocate for these surgeries having had 33 of his patients get it so far. He said 32 out of 33 are successes one got a divorce found M&Ms and got heavy again. Well my wife and kids are very supportive and really I'm tired of my daughter being embarassed of me.
