I saw your post about pre-op jitters and eating, Lauren. Hard to say why that happens for some folks. I'm a couple of weeks behind you and the same thing happens to me from time to time, in phases, since I got surgery approval. But now, I think while I'm "overdoing" it, will I miss this? Do I feel angry at losing the chance to let loose with food? Will I miss it, is it really my best friend? So far, the answers are Nah, nope, uh uh, and he** no! But habits die hard, which is why we're having this surgery (whether those habits are genetic or learned or a combination). Your attitude on your profile comes across as committed and positive, so that's how you'll do post-op. So pre-op, have a protein shake if you want, or have a pizza if you'd rather, exercise if you possibly can, do whatever...just continue to know you've made the right decision and you'll do *great (even when it's tough) post-op. {{{HUGS!}}} Past does *not* have to be prolog!

LAUREN, IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE THE PRE-SURGERY JITTERS!!! WHY AM I DOING THIS TO MYSELF? WHAT IF I FAIL? WILL EVERYONE MAKE FUN OF ME AND MY EFFORTS??? I THINK WE ALL GO THROUGH THIS. I KNOW I DID. I TOLD EVERYONE I KNEW, AND LOTS I DIDN'T KNOW, ABOUT WHAT I WAS ABOUT TO DO TO MY BODY. I THOUGHT "WHAT IF IS SCREW THIS UP TOO JUST LIKE I HAVE EVERY OTHER DIET I EVER TRIED?" WELL, RELAX, IT IS VERY HARD TO SCREW UP ON THIS DIET!!! YOUR BODY WON'T LET YOU. PLEASE JUST CALM DOWN AND THINK POSITIVE THOUGHTS, LIKE HOW GREAT YOU ARE GOING TO LOOK AND HOW WONDERFUL YOU ARE GOING TO FEEL IN A FEW MONTHS. DON'T EXPECT TO FEEL GREAT AT FIRST, YOU WILL FEEL LIKE H**L!!! BUT THEN YOUR BODY HEALS ITSELF AND YOU REALIZE HOW GREAT YOU FEEL AND HOW SLIM YOU ARE GETTING AND ALL THOSE PRE SURGERY BAD THOUGHTS WILL JUST DISAPPEAR. ESPECIALLY WHEN OTHER PEOPLE NOTICE YOUR GREAT IMPROVEMENT. YOUR HEALTH WILL IMPROVE SO MUCH YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT!!!!! I AM A DIABETIC AND WAS GIVING MYSELF 5 SHOTS A DAY PLUS TAKING ALL SORTS OF PILLS FOR DIABETES AND HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. I NOW TAKE----NOTHING!!!!!!!!!! IT IS SO WONDERFUL. I HAVE LOST 95 LBS AND TONS OF INCHES. MY HUSBAND ALSO HAD THIS LIFE SAVING PROCECURE AND HAS LOST AN AMAZING 190 LBS SINCE OCT, 2001. HE IS ALSO DIABETIC AND HAS HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. HE NOW TAKES ONLY 1 TINY PILL FOR HIS BLOOD PRESSURE. PLEASE, RELAX!!!!!! YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS AND YOU WILL SUCCEED. GET READY FOR THE MIRACLE CALLED WLS!!!!!!!
