The first surgeon called me back...
Sep 20, 2007
He was concerned when my PCP called him to tell him how pissed I was that his office was treating me like crap.. Anyways he apologized profusely, we talked a long time about the VSG and I decided to stick with him so I am back to Dr. Stefanidis.
He got all my appts rescheduled within a day and I have cleared the Nutritionist, Psych and all the blood work. All i have to do is finish scrounging up my 5 years of fatness history and im good to go for insurance... WOO?!??
Next week I have an endoscopy, haven't done that before.
I've been buying different WLS diet friendly foods to try and found some lactose intolerant person milk I like (its called dairy ease). I made SF chocolate pudding with it today and MMMMMM Good!
Tried a pure protein "deluxe" chocolate bar today too, it wasa little too sweet, so I dunno. I think maybe half a bar as a snack would be ok now and then, but they're definitely not my "quick breakfast' option.
Oh and btw the Psych was a skeeze. The dude is kinda... icky, just gives me a weird feeling and he talked more than I did! At least he cleared me for surgery. Blah lol

Well I decided against lapband. After finding the VSG board here and reading the faq and doing some other research that is the surgery I am going with.
The surgeon I saw originally won't answer my emails, or calls, neither will his staff, sooooo the heck with em. If they're too busy for me now what's going to happen after surgery??
I called Dr. Pirello's office and got an appt less than a week away - nutritionist the next day and I already have a followup for psych the day after that. If i can get my upper GI scheduled I may be able to be submitted to insurance before the end of the month! woo!

So as I said in my story my BMI is just over 40 (40.2 to be exact). Or at least it was. I've been NOT DIETING on purpose, just trying to stay the same, so that when I get weighed at the surgeon's next week I will be well qualified. As usual though something in the universe is against me - I was down 4 lbs this morning on my scale. Under normal circumstances I'd be ecstatic, but I know the 4lbs won't stay gone (especially since I lost it binging on twizzlers and pasta??) and it will just defeat my goal of WLS.
9 days until I see the surgeon again.
